What is “Certified in Wisconsin”?

The “Certified in Wisconsin” designation by the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation indicates that the site meets required infrastructure, transportation, environmental, and other criteria. The 12 building sites with this designation are ready for construction with all utilities included and state-of-the-art technology infrastructure in place.

The Technology Park serves as a foundation for a diversified and robust regional economy through the attraction of new residents, utilization of UW-Whitewater faculty, staff and student expertise and the retention of alumni talent.

Technology Park Location

As a “micropolitan” city, Whitewater, Wisconsin enables a low-stress lifestyle and provides easy access to nearby major cities including Chicago, Milwaukee, and Madison. Whitewater is conveniently located less than two miles from U.S. Highway 12, approximately 50 miles from Madison and Milwaukee, and just 80 miles from Chicago. The city is also at the epicenter of Wisconsin's population density, with close proximity to other population centers such as suburban Milwaukee, Madison, Racine, Kenosha, Janesville, and Rockford, IL.

The Whitewater University Technology Park is located only 3.2 miles from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. The University enrolls over 12,000 students and is best known for its AACSB-accredited business school as well as highly rated programs in science, technology, education, communications, humanities, and fine and applied arts. Direct roadways and bike paths between campus and the Technology Park make for easy access by car and bicycle.
