Highly-Educated Workforce

Whitewater is primarily located in Walworth County, but is also part of Jefferson County and near Rock County. Together, Walworth, Jefferson, and Rock Counties are commonly referred to as the “Tri-County Area.”  Whitewater’s leading industries revolve around education, wholesale, health care and social services, and manufacturing. The tri-county area has a workforce of over 190,000. As shown in the color-code map image, the Whitewater region has a higher percentage of residents with a bachelor’s degree or higher than other parts of the state. (U.S. Census data)

Whitewater is located near Waukesha County and is within easy commuting distance. Waukesha County has a labor force of over 223,390. It is one of the most highly educated counties in Wisconsin with 55.22% of the population having an Associates's degree or higher and 45.62% having a Bachelor’s degree or higher.
